I am a final year Ph.D. student in the Computer Systems Group at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Recently I had some really great time interning twice with Microsoft Research Cambridge where I joined the Systems and Performance Group. Before that I spent few lovely months interning with the Systems and Security Department at Institute for Infocomm Research in Singapore.
My research concerns network intrusion detection, signature generation, and vulnerability analysis. In some details, my work focuses on automatic detection and analysis of attacks, particularly those related to low-level memory errors. I was involved in the EU FP6 NoAH project. Currently, I am working on a new project on Reverse Engineering of stripped binaries, known as Rosetta.
My supervisor is Prof. dr. Herbert Bos, and my promoter is Prof. dr. ir. Henri E. Bal.
