Research interests and activities
My research, carried under the supervision of Prof. Dietrich Notbohm, focuses
in the area of Toric Topology.
My Master's thesis "Lattice polytopes and toric varieties" can be found here.
In the Spring semester 2008 we organized a reading seminar
in Toric Topology, which continues through the Fall
semester 2008.
I used to maintain the webpage of the Algebra and Geometry Seminar,
which began
in October 2008 and is organized by Natalia Dobrinskaya.
In the Spring semester 2009 (January to June) I will be visiting Alexandru
Suciu at Northeastern
University.
Teaching / Onderwijs
In het najaarssemester van 2009 assisteer ik bij het vak Basiswiskunde voor SBI, gegeven door Jan Los, bij het vak Basiswiskunde voor SCH/MNW, gegeven door Rein van der Hout en bij het vak Verzamelingen en relaties, gegeven door Marcel van de Vel.
In the Fall semester 2008 we organized a reading seminar in Algebraic Toplogy for Master's students.
In het najaarssemester van 2008 was ik assistent voor het vak Verzamelingen en relaties, dat gegeven werd door Marcel van de Vel, en bij het vak Basiswiskunde, dat gegeven werd door Freek van der Schagen.
In het najaarssemester van 2007 was ik assistent voor het vak Calculus I, dat gegeven werd door Guit-Jan Ridderbos.
Software
I am the maintainer of the
Ubuntu package of the latest version of polymake, a software for the algorithmic treatment of convex
polyhedra, simplicial complexes, tight spans of metric spaces and other objects.
