Information for the course "Geometric Dynamics and Mechanics" (Fall 2007):

Classes are on Friday afternoons from 13:15 until 16:00 and consist of two 45 minute lectures and one 45 minute exercise session. The first lecture is on Friday September 7 and the last one on Friday December 14.

I have written the lecture notes during the course, which is why they are not completely finished yet. The most up to date version of the lecture notes can be found here.

For September 14, I want to ask you to prepare Exercises 1,2,3,4 and 5 of Chapter 1.

For September 21, please make Exercises 1.6, 1.7, 2.1 and 2.2.

For September 28, please prepare Exercises 2.2, 2,3 and 2.4.

For October 5, please prepare Exercises 2.4, 2.5 and 3.1.

For October 12, prepare Exercises 3.2 and 3.3.

There will be no lectures on October 19 and on October 26.

For November 2, please prepare Exercises 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 -this is a big exercise.

For November 9, please make Exercises 4.3 and 4.4 (about "Einstein's special relativity", this exercise is new).

On November 16, we will discuss Exercises 4.4, 5.1 and 5.4.

For November 23, please make Exercises 5.2 and 5.3.

For November 30, please prepare Exercises 4.6, 5.5, 6.1 and 6.2.

For December 7, please prepare Exercises 6.3, 6.4 and 6.5.

For December 14, please prepare exercise 6.6. During this last lecture, I will the discuss the so-called "restricted circular three-body-probem". This overview lecture will not be part of the exam.

About the exam: The oral exam will comprise the lecture notes up to and including Section 7.1 and all the exercises that were treated in class. The following sections are not part of the exam: 3.12 and 4.5. Please make an appointment for the exam by e-mail.
