Appendix
This dissertation (Diplomarbeit) reports on the conservation of a costurme. Dry mud, an intrinsic component of a costume worn by Klaus Kinski in the film 'Cobra Verde', had to be consolidated in order to show the costume in the exhibition 'I, Kinski'. The consolidation of the powdering mud layer was carried out using Klucel 5% in ethanol and the ultrasonic mister 'Minivernebler W/A/Vnll'. Lose flakes have been adhered by injecting Klucel EV 15% in ethanol. For the display on a slant in a closed show case, a piece of corrugated cardboard was cut in exactly the same outline as each of the items of the costume, padded with cotton dormette and covered with cotton jersey dyed to match.
