Visual Design aka Principles of Design, Art and Visualisation

content:
Visual design in the digital realm requires
intimate knowledge of tools for the production of
digital content,
experience with the process of developing such content,
and
critical awareness of the aesthetic goals
underlying the use and production of digital content.
In addition, knowledge of digital formats is needed
to be able to comply with existing production standards.
In this course,
guest-lecturers working in the field of digital content
production will be invited to present their work
and discuss their design goals and the process of development.
Based on these presentations, the student will be given
a series of assignments through which they will gain
experience with defining aesthetic goals,
the use of digital content production tools
the process of development, and digital content production standards.
Active participation of students is required,
to enable a critical assesment in each step of
the digital content production cycle.
In the final evaluation, the students work will be subjected
to judgement by experts in the field of digital
content production.
