Research interests

• Investigating few- and many-body physics in ultracold quantum gases

• Cold antihydrogen production for comparing the fundamental symmetries between matter and antimatter

• High-precision spectroscopy for stringent tests of quantum electrodynamic theory

• Electron collisions with atoms and molecules

Current projects

• Quantum degeneracy of bosonic helium-4 and fermionic helium-3 atoms (with Dr. W. Vassen)

Research Experience

• 2010 - present: Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in the group of Prof. dr. W. Ubachs

• 2008 - 2010: Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the ATRAP collaboration at CERN, in the group of Dr. C.H. Storry of York University, Toronto, ON, Canada

• 2002 - 2008: Ph.D. candidate in physics at York University, Toronto, ON, Canada, in the group of Dr. E.A. Hessels
Thesis title: Separated oscillatory field microwave measurement of the n=2 3P1 -to- n=2 3P2 fine-structure interval of helium

• 2000 - 2002: B.Sc. honours thesis project in electron collisions with atoms and molecules at the University of Windsor, Windsor, ON, Canada, in the group of Dr. J.W. McConkey
