Research A combined approach to alignment of patient record data with a clinical context using computerized guidelines and semantic reasoning. I am a first year Phd student under supervision of Annette ten Teije, Frank van Harmelen and Richard Vdovjak from Philips Research. My research is focused on development and evaluation of the next generation clinical decision support system. The goal is to identify and implement strategies that enable improved identification of relevant clinical data in a given context. Proper application of computerized guidelines, semantic reasoning and relevant healthcare standards are expected to yield results, dircetly applicable in clinical practise. The first step requires enabling alignment of computerized guidelines and the medical records. Available ontologies are assumed to facilitate the process, by providing deeper semantic understanding of the domain. The research is carried out in close co-operation with the Philips Research and a clinical partner which will provide both patient data and the necessary feedback on relevance, accuracy, and deployability of the proposed solutions. The project is continuation of my master thesis, done under the same supervision. The goal of it was to facilitate automatic processing of the guidelines formalized in Asbru language, and design simulator of the guidelines execution. assesses plans applicability for a given patient, and provides the selection of relevant parameters from patient record, identified during plans eveluation. |
