About meI am researcher/lecturer in the Agent Systems Research Group, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I am also research scientist and project manager at the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), Department of Perceptual and Cognitive Systems. My PhD thesis is entitled "Adaptive Support for Human-Computer Teams: Exploring the Use of Cognitive Models of Trust and Attention". Source code, data and illustration material used for the research reported in my thesis, can be found here (trust) and here (attention). Please first request access through e-mail and describe what you intend to do with it. Those further interested are referred to my LinkedIn Profile or curriculum vitae. I just became a proud father of our daugther "Merel van Maanen". Here, here and here are cute pictures of her (just a few days old). Current research interestsCognitive Modelling and Cognitive Science, Philosophy of Mind, Affective Computing, Theoretical AI, Meta-Reasoning, Behavioral and Organizational Dynamics Modelling, Human-Machine Cooperative Systems, Adaptive Automation, Cognitive Robotics, Trust and Reliance Decision Making, Emotion, Serious Games, Chatbots, Attention, Ethical Decision Making, Stress, Augmented Cognition, Unmanned Vehicles, Sustainability. How to reach meE-mail:peter-paul.vanmaanen (at) tno (dot) nl
