- 01/11/10: update(s)
I have put the result of the worst page elections as well as the
interactive video exhibit on the blog creativetechnology.eu/
based on the material in
sites.google.com/site/create10nm1/student-contribution-s
if you spot any errors, notify me,
and the groups with incomplete information, complete it!
- 29/10/10: event
I was happy to see all the productions today, completed in time,
and of overall high quality. Excellent work, and all in all an event
that is a worthy conclusion of: we create identity.
Thanks, in particular, to Heleen and Inez for organizing (and presenting) it!
When you put your interactive video online, please also include
a link to the trailer, which are what will sell your IV when you when they
are made available online.
Again, well done!
PS and dont forget to put your worst page on
sites.google.com/site/create10nm1/worst-page-s
before monday!
- 6/10/10: stupid problem(s)
I would easily advice someone else to be always careful,
and nevertheless how could I make such a stupid mistake.
As I told Michel, and before the class, I am not only human
but also sloppy. And this, unfortunately, proves it.
Then again, the students should have send the reviews already last week.
But, I am afraid, that will not work. However, I will still require
the reviews. If the victimes of this short downtime, from 4-6 october
persist they may however get away with an empty review, but with name
and a short statement in the remarks, to claim that they are victim.
Alternatively, I may offer them 5 euro compensation. Because, after all,
the reviews are not about me, but about the fellow students, and
apparently the (peer) review mechanism is appreciated by a number of
the students. I think it is an essential mechanism, certainly at this stage, where many still have to become active and part of the group.
- 6/10/10 (19:42) -- problem fixed
Michel told be that a review he submitted did was not listed.
When I checked the form, it appeared that the few.vu.nl server does not deal with any of the form appropriately. At sites.google.com/site/create10ca1site/peer-review-s
if have given an easy workaround, bur you may also hold your submissions until
I found out what happened, and solve it.
I am really sorry about this inconvenience, but must say it is beyond my control.
- 6/10/10 (18:52) -- urgent

- 3/10/10: 20/41 review(s)
great, we are almost halfway with the last two reviews of fabienne and esther, both excellent reviews, exhaustive in the sense of complete and sharp in the sense of honest.
Well done. And if you have any doubt whether to submit your review, read the
requirements for grading: sites.google.com/site/create10ca1site/grading-requirement-s
And, what else, tomorrow (monday, for the other 21) I will ask: what is your excuse?
- 1/9/10: 11/41 review(s)
one day later, only one more review, well two, but that one although well done
did not use marks, so will appear later. So please give marks in the first fields in the range of 0-10 (use dots and not commas for fractions). Text comments and qualification must be in the remarks field.
For the rest, I can only say: www.cs.vu.nl/~eliehttp://create.eliens.net/@slide-repeat-review.html
And if you did not submit, with the exception of Isa who asked for a little delay,
what is your excuse?
- 30/9/10: 10/41 review(s)
slowly, slowly, to see how it works look at
sites.google.com/site/create10ca1site/peer-review-s
and submit!
- 30/9/10: 6/41 review(s)
and two more, so for the rest: submit!
www.cs.vu.nl/~eliens/.CREATE/get-review-ca1.php
- 29/9/10: 4/41 review(s)
after 2 or 3 days, dependent on how you count, that is still not much.
Honor to Ernst who was the first to submit, see
https://sites.google.com/site/create10ca1site/hall-of-f-sh-ame.
In other words, submit!
- 25/9/10: status
41 students is quite a crowd, and some, indeed have lengthy blogs,
some very short though. Today, I did a full round along all the blogs
and I observe that:
- a number of students stopped writing two weeks or longer ago
- only in about one third of the blogs an explicit description of
the work for the final assignment is given
- almost none, only one if I remember well, gives a link to the
group site that accompanies the production.
- nevertheless, many of the blogs contain interesting material,
personal stories as well as technical information.
So in short: continue writing, update the blog(s) with information
about your work, and remember, it is not schooling that you need
but education, so don't wait (too much) for my explicit command
to be creative & productive!
For each student, I gave short individual comments in your status file,
see www.cs.vu.nl/~eliehttp://create.eliens.net/participant-ca1.html
Next monday, 27/9/2010, you will have to present your work
for the interactive video. In the morning session, 5-10 minutes
per group the main focus should be on the concept and the (eventual) product.
In the afternoon, we you will have to present again, but then
from the perspective of the process and your (individual)
role in that.
Finally, I want you to fill in the (first?) peer review,
using the online form at:
www.cs.vu.nl/~eliehttp://create.eliens.net/get-review-ca1.php
For clarity, you may focus mainly on the people you cooperate with,
but marks and remarks about the others are highly appreciated,
and keep in mind that omitting students indicates the (lack of)
connections. Completing the peer review takes some time,
and I advice you to do it after the monday sessions.
See you monday, and don't forget to update your blog(s)!
- 13/9/10: invitation
to discuss conceptual and technical issues you may use this group,as a complement to the common(s) for CA1. We will very likely also use this group also for discussing conceptual and technical issues
in NM1 and later courses.
- 13/9/10: via email -- access common(s)
Yannick notified me that he could not get access to the commons for .create/ca1:
sites.google.com/site/create10ca1site
This was very likely due to him not being included in the list of invitees.
I corrected that. If any of you has problems accessing this site, let me know,
and ask Jan K, for support, tomorrow morning 9.30 in Smart XP.
And, I urge you all, toput your story and concept for your interactive video online,
either directly in the commons or on a site of your own, with alink in the commons.
Don't use comments to announce your projects, comments are not meant for that.
Also do not forget to include the names of your group members,
and finally include a reference, each of you, in your individual blog, so that everything
is connected, ...
