We went here, got a seat, got some water but did not get service for 20+ min. After the wait we were so hungry we could of eaten dirt. The food was okay but after not seeing our rude waitress for awhile made us not impressed.

Cafe Campagne Amazon ASIN: B000063HJ0
There are a lot of neo-french theme restaurants poping up in Seattle these days, serving American food with European style. This leves me feeling bland and empty. Real French food is pungent and rich with a visual atmosphere that you can almost taste in the food.
Cafe Campagne isn't one of the most upscale French restaurants in Seattle, but it's right on target as Seattle's best Brasserie. It's food is rustic, it's dining room is classic, and there are relatively few concessions to Americanizing the food. To tell the truth, I like it better than it's big sister upstairs, Campagne, and I can afford to eat there more often.
For a more authentic French experience than the super-elite black-tie menu-fixe French restaurant's that you couldn't get reservations at anyway, just wander in to the Cafe Campagne.

Cassis Amazon ASIN: B000063HRC
When we went to Paris this last year, we tried to find Moules Mariniere that were better than Cassis, but we couldn't! We love this neighborhood restaurant, and we're so glad that it is in *our* neighborhood!
While Cassis is great for celebrating special occasions, we've found that it's even suitable for weeknight dinners. Our (two of us) favorite combination is 2 frisee salads, split a moules mariniere, a 1/2 liter of house cotes du rhone and dessert. I think is costs less than $60, and we are plenty full.
Further, much like restaurants in France, it's not an issue if you want to eat lightly here. The staff has always made us feel right at home when ordering the above combination. They have made it a point to mention that it's *just fine* to split items and order smaller portions. Truly a French experience!

Il Bistro Amazon ASIN: B000063HHJ
I thought I found a little secret hideaway when I stumbled into this Pike Place Market restaurant. But when you serve food as good as this (the cesare salad and salmon are die for)in a cozy, romantic resaurant you can be sure I wasn't suprise that this has been a Seattle favorite for the locals a long time.
I'll be back every time I visit Seattle and I'll bring my wife cause she loved it even more.

Le Gourmand Amazon ASIN: B000063HH5
By far my favorite in Seattle.
With so few tables here you are treated to the most outstanding service I have ever encountered. The waiters are knowledgable and have perfected the art of being attentive without being intrusive.
The food is of the highest quality. The obvious care and attention to detail is plain to see. The chef has an obvious love for what he is doing.
I always save this for special occasions and can't wait for the next one.

Le Pichet Amazon ASIN: B000063GQ3
A promising bistro-style restaurant located conveniently close to downtown attractions, Le Pichet is very small; it's set up a bit like an old fashioned diner, with a food and drink bar on one side of the narrow room and tables lined up along the wall behind the bar all the way down the room. The problem, and it's a fatal one, is that smoking is permitted at the bar, but because there's no real separation between the bar and the tables, our meal there was ruined by one smoker nearby. When we pointed this problem out to the wait staff, they responded indifferently that they don't usually get too many smokers at the bar. THEN WHY ALLOW SMOKING AT ALL?? I'm not an anti-smoking zealot by any means, but it's just not right in this day and age to run a business where one smoker can ruin 10 other parties' meals. The food was good (I docked it half a point for having to put up with smoke), and the restaurant has promise, but it's not a place you can bring friends or family to until they either get more room or ban smoking altogether.
