The Internet Is Driving Object Technology The Internet, says Harmon, has had the effect of pushing large numbers of companies into the exploration of object technology (OT). His survey data reveals that large companies are generally ahead of smaller companies in adopting OT. "Thus, for example, larger companies are more likely to have adopted CORBA or an OO language like C++ or Java, but smaller companies are ahead on adopting OO databases, reflecting the stronger hold that larger companies' database managers have on their organizations."
