Ulrike Meinhof: die BiografieUlrike Meinhof: die Biografie by Jutta Ditfurth My rating: 5 of 5 stars A stunning book. Yes, the author is maybe sometimes a bit too empathic, but she does a wonderful job in placing Ulrike in her "Zeitbild". Very well written with extensive research. I lived through much of this era, but I must shamefully admit I missed most of this story when it happened. I'm happy to catch up now. Yes, we all know what happened to communism, but Ulrike is a force one cannot help to admire. And so we should. The story of her treatment at various stages, by the authorities and by the Springer press, has all the hallmarks of truth. Germany has come a long way since the time of the "Berufsverbote", quite likely also due to her. Many thanks to Jutta Ditfurth for bringing this life story to us. View all my reviews
